The Latics have signed goalkeeper Duncan Roberts from Bedford Town of the Ryman Premier League. Roberts has signed on a non-contract basis until the end of the season. He played for Norwich's youth sides in the mid-1990s, especially the Under-16s in 1994/95. Norwich did not take him on and he joined Mansfield before returning to Norfolk. He then joined King's Lynn before signing for hometown club Wisbech. A spell with Spalding was followed by another stint with the Fenmen. In the autumn of 2001, he joined Ryman Leaguers Harrow Borough and then moved
to St Albans in August 2002 but by Christmas 2002, he had joined Bedford Town.
Duncan played for the Latics reserves on 10th March in the Manchester Senior Cup semi-final against Manchester City and kept a clean sheet as Athletic won 1-0.
