Athletic started off their pre-season build up with a visit to Belle Vue, the home of Welsh Premier League team Rhyl. The match was much like a practice match for Oldham as they were seldom troubled and they ran out easy 0-3 winners. The goals came from Craig Davies, debutant Danny Whitaker and Lewis Alessandra (pictured) in front of 672 spectators. Athletic's next challenge is a trip the League Two side Grimsby Town next Saturday.
