Latics to play in first round of JPT

The Latics will have to play in the first round of the Johnstone's Paint Trophy after the draw took place and gave Bury, Carlisle United, Chester City, Darlington, Huddersfield Town, Lincoln City, Rochdale and Rotherham United byes in the northern section.

Athletic will be in the north west section and will play against Accrington Stanley, Crewe Alexandra, Macclesfield Town, Morecambe, Port Vale, Stockport County or Tranmere Rovers during the week commencing September 1st.
