Lee offered a contract

Former Brighton and Southend midfielder David Lee has been offered a contract at Athletic for the next month. Lee has started in the last 3 matches and has been on a non-contract basis which ended last Saturday. Injuries to Mark Bonner and John Eyre have pushed the hand of Brian Talbot. Talbot is also on the lookout for an experienced player with leadership qualities and he hopes to sign such a player before the match at Stockport.

Talbot said, “We’ve played 15 games this season and there’s no doubt we are involved in a relegation battle. We have to face up to the situation and do something about it, starting right away at Stockport. A lot of young players have been used so far, and they have done okay but I also want someone who can organise the people around him. I can shout and scream from the touchline but we also need an old head out there on the pitch.”
