Defender Kelvin Lomax played a great part in the FA Cup victory at Everton and he praised his manager for giving the team belief. He told Latics World, "It was a great performance. When we got going we strung a few passes together and the whole team did brilliantly. You've got to respect Everton as they're a Premier League team, but we came here to win. Shez said as much in the dressing room before the game. He told us we weren't here just to enjoy the day, we were here to try and get something. He wants us all to be winners. We got a fantastic result and deserved it, too."

"There was a bit of a scramble in the box, and luckily I was in the right place at the right time to clear it away. Shez said he would give me a chance as Ryan Bertrand has left, and I hope I can show him I can play and do well. The fans were absolutely brilliant and got behind us for the entire game. That was the biggest crowd I've ever played in front of, and to see all the fans there giving us their support was fantastic."
