Manager wins award

Latics manager John Sheridan has won the Coca-Cola League One Manager of the Month award. Chris Kamara announced the results on Sky Sports News and Sheridan finally picks up the award that he deserves after having been closely beaten out by Scunthorpe's Brian Laws, now with Sheffield Wednesday, earlier on in the season.

The Latics form for November has been phenominal with their only downfall being the terrible 1-0 home defeat against Chesterfield in the First Round of the Johnstone's Paint Trophy. Since then the team have gone on to record four consecutive wins and Shez has dedicated the award to his players and coaching staff by saying, "This is good because it obviously means we're doing well, and that's the main thing. However, credit to the players and staff. They're all working hard and I feel we're going the right way. We can do all the coaching and talking we want but it's the lads who actually go out onto the pitch. All the players helped me win this and not just the starting eleven. It's a squad award as many players have come in and done a job when required. This award belongs to a lot of people who've helped me out along the way."
