Moore bombasts his players

Once again, Latics boss Ronnie Moore has bombasted his players and accused them of not wanting promotion. The team have taken just one point from the last 12 and three consecutive defeats means that the play-off spots are seriously out of their grasp unless they win the last three games and the high fliers come unstuck on the run in. It's not impossible but the way the team have been performing it would take all of Paul Daniels illusion skills to achieve such a feat.

A furious Moore said, “Some of them look fearful of stepping up to the next level. It sounds ridiculous, but they are making so many poor decisions that it's like they don't think they could handle it if we went up. Maybe they just aren't good enough, but maybe they need help from a psychologist or a psychiatrist. It hurts me that we've started losing games after getting ourselves in the top six, but I sense some of the players don't feel the same.”

"It's going to be very difficult to get back into those play-off places. We chased the top six nearly all season and then couldn't keep it when we reached them. I'm lost for words about some of the things we did and, if we aren't careful, we'll end the season with six straight defeats.”
