Moore disappointed as Latics throw away lead

Ronnie Moore was disappointed with the way that Athletic threw away their lead at Brentford. He said, "We chucked it away. To get done with two set-pieces and a long thrown-in was ridiculous. We had practised all week on who was doing what, but we keep giving away stupid goals. It is the same week in, week out and I am getting fed up with it."

"We switched off in the last minute and got caught, I just can't believe how naive we were. I was gutted with the defensive performance from our lads. It was suicide stuff. The number of points we have thrown away is crazy and if we could defend we would be top of the league."

Being at the top of the league may be an ambitious statement as the team keep making the same mistakes. The excuses are wearing thin and it's time that Mr. Moore put his foot down. If the players are not doing as they are told they should move over and let someone else try. It's a tough call and although the Latics are only 5 points away from a play-off place, their defending has definitely been relegation form.
