Moore looks for four more victories

Ronnie Moore believes that four wins out of the last five games of the season will be enough to guarantee a play-off position. The run in to the season end starts this Saturday at home to Barnsley and is then followed by Bristol City (away), Swansea (home), Doncaster (away) and the final game at home to Scunthorpe United.

Moore said, “Four wins would be enough, and if the lads aren't up for a challenge like this they will never be up for anything. I still think an automatic spot is possible, but the defeat against MK Dons on Saturday might have put an end to that one. We've made things much harder for ourselves, so the players need to go out against Barnsley and set us up by showing passion and determination. They owe it to the supporters, the club and themselves, and if they play to their potential right through to the end of the season, anything can happen.”

The defeat against McDongles is not as crucial as Moore makes out as they just need to beat Barnsley then not drop more points than Barnsley or Nottingham Forest. I hope that Ronnie remembers these words if Athletic do fail to reach the play-offs because if "they will never be up for anything" the players who do not perform hardly deserve another chance to waste valuable time in the team next season.
