Moore not happy with defeat

Ronnie Moore had a disasterous return to Boundary Park and he was utterly disappointed as he watched his side slide to a dismal 3-1 defeat. The defeat made Tranmere drop out of the play off places and bring Athletic to within two points of the Rovers and just four points off a play-off spot.

Moore told Tranmere World, "You can't come here and play the way we played. It was a stupid square ball on the halfway line and then they got the penalty. He had a long way to go from there but he got through us too easily. We weren't at the races. That's a shadow of what we've been. That's our worst performance this season. We had tremendous support and they paid money to come and watch that. We've got ourselves in a great position and then we turned in a performance like that. As a back four we were all over the place. The use of the ball from the full backs wasn't good enough."

"We gifted them the goals. They haven't had to work, that's what annoys you. We got back in the game at 2-1 and then the lad turns and spins a big centre back as easily as that? we just didn't defend. We got what we deserved. We can't feel sorry for ourselves. We're at Swansea on Tuesday and we know what we're in for there. We'll have a look at the video tomorrow. It might take all day to go through the things that went wrong today."
