Moore puts faith in his defenders

After Saturday's win at Gillingham, manager Ronnie Moore has decided that he will not now be pursuing a new central defender. He had toyed with the idea of a loan player but the return to fitness of several of his defenders means that he will now abandon the plan.

Moore told the Chronicle, “I’ve wanted a big stopper at centre-half, but nothing came off so we’ll stick with what we’ve got. We’ll have a few more players available soon and, to be fair, Gareth Owen (pictured) and Terrell Forbes did well at Gillingham on Saturday."

"It would have been easier to make a signing if someone had left the club first, but nobody came in for our players, which is fine by me. And Guy Branston might be okay for Saturday so that would give us a new option anyway.”
