Moore still hopes to bring in another player

Even though there were no incoming players when the transfer window closed, Ronnie Moore is still hoping to bring in another midfielder, albeit on a loan. He still has Luke Beckett (pictured) to return from injury and with Mark Bonner, Mark Hughes, Stefan Stam, Paul Edwards and David Eyres seeing little first team action there is plenty of competition for places. Will Haining, Danny Hall and Chris Swailes are still waiting to recover fully from injury which gives the Latics one of the biggest squads in the division.

Moore said, “I’ve got 21 players with four out injured, so when they’re back it will be like having brand new players. But I need another midfielder and once I have that my team will be there or thereabouts.”

The manager made an enquiry for Rotherham forward Jamal Campbell-Ryce who had asked to go on the transfer list. Rotherham however, are demanding a £200,000 fee but Moore said, “He’s a talented lad, but no-one will pay that money because he has proved nothing.”
