Moore still on lookout for more players

Ronnie Moore is still on the lookout for players even though the signing of Luke Beckett was his 11th. Tony Grant (pictured) has been release by Burnley and has been training with the Latics. A virtual ever-present last season his release by the Championship side came as a big surprise. The midfielder (30) has been invited to play in a friendly for Derby but if nothing comes from it, Moore will take him back at Boundary Park to have a closer look.

Andy Todd (26) is another player that Moore is interested in seeing more of. He will play against both Stockport and Middlesbrough and Moore said, “We need to see how he handles league opposition, but two good performances would do him a lot of favours. If he does well and his demands are reasonable, I will take a chance on him.”

A goalkeeper must be the next priority. With trialist Joe Murphy injured and Les Pogliacomi the only recognised keeper, it must be a headache for Moore as an injury could leave the Latics without a goalie.
