Moore tries to poach from his old team

Ronnie Moore is attempting to poach players from his old club, Rotherham. One of the players on his ‘wanted list’ is Paul Warne (pictured), the midfield/winger who was almost signed when Moore took over at Boundary Park. Rob Scott and Martin McIntosh are two defenders who Moore would also like to bring to Athletic’s squad for next season. Moore has already been in touch with new Millers manager Mick Harford, and he said, “I think there’s every chance Mick would let them go.” Scott is an experienced player who will be making his 200th. appearance for already relegated Rotherham on Sunday. Both defenders are soon to become free agents although Rotherham could demand a fee if McIntosh signs on the dotted line.

Any signings will be put on hold until after Saturday’s crucial battle against Bradford City, arguably Athletic’s biggest game in recent history. Athletic will be relegated if they lose and Franchise FC beat Tranmere Rovers but Moore was upbeat and hopes for a bumper gate to cheer on the team. He said, “The fans could make a massive difference. We need as many as possible getting behind us.”
