More changes in Latics merry-go-round

More changes in personnel at Boundary Park have been disclosed. It is becoming a merry-go-round with Andy Beaglehole, director of youth development, the latest to leave after two years service. Andy previously
worked for Leeds United at a football development office in the South Yorkshire region.

Alan Hardy commented, “I would like to thank Andy for the tremendous amount of hard work he has put into the club since arriving some 24 months ago. Unfortunately Andy is a victim of football's financial climate and in particular our
club's need to rationalise its staff costs. I would like to wish him all the best for his search for a position in football. I am sure it won't be too long before he gets fixed up somewhere”.

As Beaglehole departs Gil Prescott joins the club in the role of Centre of Excellence coordinator and will also act as Senior Scouting reporter to Tony Philliskirk. Prescott has been in football all his life and has played at Manchester City, Doncaster Rovers, Northwich Victoria, Witton Albion and Winsford United.

After hanging his boots up Prescott became non-league scout for Aston Villa before becoming assistant manager of Northwich Victoria, then Ashton United
and finally director of football at Macclesfield Town. He was instrumental in spotting Neville Southall, Jimmy Quinn, Tony Naylor and Richard Lambert.

Commenting on his appointment he said, “I am very excited to be at Latics as it is a big club. I have a lot of respect for the staff here having worked with Tony Philliskirk at Macclesfield Town. Iain Dowie has impressed me. He is very single minded, knowing exactly what he wants and I am sure he will be a big success for the Club. I hope I enjoy my time here as I did at Macclesfield”.
