More progress with team

John Sheridan is pleased with the progress that his team is making after the 1-1 draw with Derby County. He told Latics World, "I thought we did okay against a good footballing side who moved the ball well. They gave us a good test, and although our shape wasn't really there in the first fifteen minutes that will come in the final two games. We are getting stronger with each game and the effort was certainly there which was pleasing. We got into the game after the first fifteen minutes, caused them one or two problems and created a few chances."

"People are going to look sloppy at points but it's still early days. I've said before that players can feel fit in training but it's a different ball game in a match situation. We'll be doing more work on the training ground ahead of the final pre-season friendlies against Hull and Bradford."
