Murray commented, “Palace might get back to me, but if it doesn’t happen this week I don’t think it will happen at all. I’m not sure the situation will be resolved, but that’s fine because I enjoy playing for Oldham. Going to London would be a big move, so I would need to be satisfied it was right both financially and for my family. I will probably be here to the end of the season at least, or maybe longer if we could sort something out. And I would be happy to do that.”

New owner Simon Corney said, “It's obviously great news for us and the club that Paul has turned down the offer. We have opened preliminary negotiations and hope that Paul will commit himself to Latics for a longer period as he has proved to be a good player for the team. Hopefully we will be able to come to an agreement with Paul over a deal that will keep him here at Boundary Park for longer.”
