David Wheater is the new Captain for the Latics for the remainder of the 2019/20 season. The defender has put in some strong leadership roles since he joined Boundary Park and his impressive performances have got him the job.
Wheater commented, "It's an honour to be given the captaincy and as a senior professional I'll continue to give my all to the club and help my teammates as I have done since I joined."
