As anticipated, Manchester based Horners Motor Group has become the new Latics shirt sponsors and is another major step in the recovery of OAFC. The sponsorship will pump a massive £300,000 into the club over the next three seasons and will see the players wearing the company’s logo until the end of the 2006 season.

Horners Managing Director, a self-confessed Latics fan, Richard Haytack said, “This is a proud day indeed for me. I’ve been a supporter all my life and was a regular ‘Chaddy Ender’ in my younger days. Even today I rarely miss a game and plan my holidays around the fixture list! Over the past couple of years Oldham Athletics’ profile and supporter base has increased immensely and I am sure this will continue. Sponsoring the club – and the town itself – in this way will help to not only build our profile as a major player in the area, it will also help us increase our brand awareness when Latics visit other clubs around the UK. What’s more, Latics’ business and footballing principles match our own in being very forward thinking." Horners Motor Group has a turnover of £45 million.

Sean Jarvis said, “This is fantastic news for the Club and we are delighted to be associated to Horners who are clearly a growing and very professional organisation. We are looking forward to a very long and successful relationship with them. Delivery may take a while given the summer difficulties. We are expecting to get the replica shirts around the end of September and are doing everything we can to make sure that the players run out in the new kit for the first game of the season.” Visit the official website for pictures of the new kit.
