Newbies set to make mark

Athletic's two new loan signings, Jean Yves M'voto and Oumare Tounkare, from Sunderland look like they will fit in well at Boundary Park. Manager Paul Dickov has been chasing the players for some time and said, “Both players are everything we want - young and hungry with a good attitude and a point to prove. Apart from their physical presence - they tower over me - they both have pace and are good athleties and footballers. We are very lucky to have them on board and Steve Bruce has been fantastic in allowing them to join us.”

M'voto previously had a loan spell at Southend and Tounkare made his debut for the Latics in the 2-1 weekend win at Tranmere Rovers. Frenchman Tounkare was visibly a little rusty in what was his first competitive appearance in English football. Of his debut Dickov said, “Oumare brings something different to the forward line as he has pace as well as being big and strong. We have a lot of forward players and they all have different qualities which you need to break down defences.”
