No bids yet for Armstrong

Athletic have confirmed they have received no bids for Chris Armstrong (pictured) after he has been recently watched twice by Bobby Robson. The club commented, “We can confirm we have had no official approach for Armstrong. Mick Wadsworth has gone on record as saying he wants the squad trimming to around 25 players, but he is developing a team for the future and we are not sure how he would react to the prospect of selling one of his best players.”

In the meantime Newcastle defender David Beharall has made his move to
Athletic permanent for an undisclosed fee. Originally on loan at Boundary Park until the end of the season, and having only played four times for the first team at St James' Park, Beharall has made 19 appearances so far but has done enough to convince Wadsworth to keep him.
