No more "Rotherhams"

Athletic do not want any more "Rotherhams" as they build up the the final stages of the season. Boss Ronnie Moore has told his team that nothing but hard work will get them into the play-offs and any slacking could be disasterous. On Saturday comes another potential banana skin as the visitors will be McFranchise FC who have only won once away from home all season. With four home games in their last six, they have their own fate in their hands as they still have to entertain two of the team above them.

Moore stressed, “We've spent most of the season trying to get back in a play-off spot, so the lads deserve credit for achieving it. They have been brilliant for quite a few weeks and worked hard to make sure our fate is in our own hands. We've passed Barnsley and our sights are on teams like Colchester and Swansea, but it only takes one poor result to knock us back out of the top six. The situation has changed because we're there to be shot at."

"We've got to fight sides off instead of chasing them. Barnsley are just behind, people are still talking about Nottingham Forest and I know for a fact that Doncaster think they've got one hell of a chance. We've worked so hard to get ourselves in this position, and now we don't want to hand it over on a plate. I'm pleased there are four more home games because we've started to build up a very good record. If we do the right things we'll be difficult to catch, but there's a lot of hard work in front of us.”
