Reading's 19-year-old midfield player Jordan Obita has signed for the Latics for one month on an emergency youth loan subject to Premier League and Football League clearances.
As Obita is not cup-tied he will be eligible to play for the Latics against Everton in the fifth round of the FA Cup.
Last season he had loan spells at Barnet and Gillingham and this year he has played for cash strapped Portsmouth and he appeared against the Latics when they won there back in September.
Obeta is also an England under-18 and 19 international.
