Speculation that Chris O'Grady will be joining Rochdale on a permanent deal have been quashed by manager Dave Penney. Penney confirmed that the striker, currently on a goalscoring run while on loan at the Dale, will definitely return to Boundary Park when his loan expires. O'Grady has hit nine goals in 20 matches for the Spotland team which has helped the Latics neighbours to become the current league leaders of League Two.
Penney confirmed, “Chris will be coming back, that is for sure. We will assess what we are going to do when we get to January and see where we are at. But certainly at the moment, Chris will be returning.”
