Owen has had enough

Gareth Owen has had enough and has asked for a transfer away from Boundary Park. Owen only came last summer for a fee of £50,000 after a successful loan period and signed a on a three year contract. The 23 year old has played 21 games this season but he is disappointed at the way his move worked out. He also dislikes travelling to Oldham from the Potteries every day. Owen will probably appear in the final league game of the season on Saturday and Ronnie Moore has “reluctantly” agreed to his transfer request.

Moore said, "We had a chat and he wanted to leave. I thought he might have rolled his sleeves up and had another go until Christmas, then come and see me again. Basically, if there is anybody who does not want to be at the club I am not going to stand in their way. Reluctantly, I have agreed to his request."
