In the words of the Americans "Guys, we've got him." Well, it should be them really in this case but the Latics truly became a step closer to survival today as the saviours were named.

Known only before as 3 Jewish ex-pats who make their money in tele-communications in New York, the names of Simon Corney, Simon Blitz and Daniel Gazal were finally revealed today.

The news comes after months of deep crisis at the Latics and it is these 3 men who have so far shelled out £4.6m to repurchase Boundary Park and pay off previous "rent holidays" owed to the council. Money where their mouths are, one might add.

Having kept their names hidden in order to secure the clubs future behind the scenes, the trio will now own the Latics with Simon Corney becoming UK based in order to run the club. The trio promise security, stability and steady progress.

More news is expected to be revealed later this week, however the Latics must now negotiate a CVA (Company Voluntary Agreement) with current creditors in January in order to close down the current company and re-start under a new company. This will complete the takeover which will see Oldham Athletic come out of Administration during the 1st week in February and a new era begin.
