The Latics are hoping to sign Brentford hitman Lloyd Owusu. On the wanted list of several clubs, Athletic are hoping to land his signature. The 25 year old six footer has made 195 appearances while scoring 73 goals for the Bees. After Brentfords defeat by Stoke in the play-off final it became more likely that Owusu would move on. Wadsworth admits that he fits the profile of a proven young player available under the Bosman ruling who would add to his squad.
Alan Hardy said, “We have made no formal approach to the Brentford manager, Steve Coppell, or his coveted star striker but we are aware that Lloyd Owusu is out of contract. He is one of the players on the manager's shortlist.”
