Penney delighted with captures

Latics boss Dave Penney has commented on his delight at the last day captures of the transfer window. He told the official Latics website, "I have known Jason Price for some time and he did great for me at Doncaster. He became a cult figure with his afro hair style and he certainly knows the game. He will give us the experience and know how up front that we have been missing, and hopefully also a few more goals."

Of the renewed deal for Jim Goodwin (pictured) the manager said, "We like the character and mental toughness that Jim brings to the team. We don't have enough of that at the club. He has experience, know how and ability to play in a couple of positions. We brought him in to play in the centre of midfield, but I also knew he could play right back from his time at Stockport.
