Latics manager Dave Penney is upbeat in the approach to the six-pointer game on Saturday against Gillingham. He said, "We try not to worry about their record and results - it is about what we do - though it is a massive match. We keep saying these games are six pointers, but the facts are this is a chance to move above them in the table. It is a big three points, though at the end of the day it is only three points."

When discussing the defeat at home to Brentford, the manager went on, "The positive thing is that the players kept going to the last minute. We scored a second goal, had some other great chances and their keeper made some great saves. We have to make sure we get the ball wide to Chris and young Kirk Millar which is our strength. We need to get to the by-line to get balls into the box where Pawel is scoring goals again and Guy Lewis is a threat just behind him unsettling defenders. We seem to have got the attacking side right, but we keep letting in silly goals. The more positive the atmosphere we can get, it will obviously be better for the players."
