Plans for redevelopment still on

Plans are still going ahead for the redevelopment of Boundary Park, although the current credit squeeze had put a damper on procedings. Alan Hardy has tried to reasssure supporters that the ambitious plans have not been scrapped.

The Construction News website recently claimed that the £80 million scheme has been shelved but Mr Hardy confirmed that, "We are in exactly the same situation as in the summer. It is just a temporary thing until the economic situation improves. The scheme, approved last December, would increase the stadium capacity to 16,000 and include hospitality boxes, conference facilities, restaurants and a neighbouring housing development."

With the demolition of the Broadway Stand, the current capacity of Boundary Park stands at 10,800.
