Will Haining (pictured) is to see a specialist over the torn hamstring that he sustained at Hartlepool United. If the tear is severe Haining could be out for up to six weeks. Michael Clegg took over from Haining but was unlucky as he picked up a calf injury in the game. Of Cleggs performance Dowie said, “I thought Michael Clegg did well when he came on. He did very, very well and he deserves a bit of credit for that.”

Calvin Zola picked up a slight knock on his debut in Saturday’s draw at Victoria Park. Zola was unlucky not to score and hit the post with one effort. Calvin said, “I was disappointed because I had a few chances and should have done better. I was playing on one leg for most of the game and I was gutted to miss the opportunity when I was only yards out. The ball seemed to get lost under my feet and I could only manage to poke it wide.”

Swedish defender Kangana Lord N'Diwa has completed his one month loan and has returned home to Bolton Wanderers. Ndiwa made three starts for the Latics before he was dropped to the reserves.

Ernie Cooksey missed the trip to Hartlepool after his mother died on Friday.
