Players fight for fitness

Athletic’s physio has a tough time ahead of him as he tries to patch up the walking wounded in an attempt to have them fit for the FA Cup replay at Burton Albion. Carlo Corazzin is still suffering as he awaits surgery on his knee and
Wayne Andrews also suffered a slight knee injury in Saturday’s non-event with Cheltenham. John Eyre took a knock on the shin and is doubtful for the game in which Burton hope to turn the tables on the Latics giant killing events of this season’s cup matches.

The good news out of Boundary park is that top-scorer Clyde Wijnhard made a successful return after his recent injury problems and looked sharp on Saturday. The other bonus is that ‘One Size’ Fitz Hall is back after suspension but that means that Josh Low (pictured) could again take a back seat.
