Athletic will be holding a board meeting later this week to discuss repercussions and possible sanctions after the embarrassing incidents which took place recently during a night out at Belle Vue dog track. There is a distinct possibility that some employees could be dismissed as a result of investigations into the booze related night.

Witnesses are being interviewed to shed light on some of the alleged incidents which included Lee Hughes holding manager John Sheridan in a head lock following a heated exchange and team captain Sean Gregan who was alleged to have been involved in another fracas with Chris Taylor.

Alan Hardy (pictured) said, "If anyone is found to have been acting inappropriately, thus bringing the club into disrepute, I would expect the strongest possible action to be taken. We have to look carefully at all the evidence, but cannot discount sackings on the ground of gross misconduct."
