Latics boss Dave Penney was delighted with his team's performance on Tuesday night but warned about being over confident. He said: "It is easy raising your tempo against the likes of MK Dons or other teams at the top, but we have to make sure we do it against Yeovil and ensure it isn't a case of after the Lord Mayor's Show. We need to play at the same tempo and show the same enthusiasm and workrate. It was a great result. We battled away and our work ethic and tempo from the first minute on was excellent. There was some great play and two great goals from Alan Sheehan and Keigan Parker." "It's a great result - if you play that well you hope you can carry it through and get the result and we deserved the three points today. Obviously we've had to hang on a bit at the death - the 'keepers up and they've launched a few balls in. But we battled away all game and we had the right work rate and work ethic to win the game. They were two great goals. It helps when certain individuals score goals and you see people get a boost from it. For the first I'm screaming at Alan to have a shot - if you don't buy a ticket you don't win a prize - and to be fair it's a great finish - the 'keepers not even moved! Keigan's caused them a lot of problems in the channels, we had a chat about that and played him there to do that, and he's taken his chance really well."
"They're a big side, a big unit, and we defended well against that. We're disappointed to concede, but Dean's got a hand on it he's been unlucky, it's whacked him on the head and gone in. It certainly makes things a bit edgy, their 'keepers made a handful of great saves - especially on Pawel. It would have capped it off for Pav, who was the catalyst for us tonight. He was excellent in the link up and he's enabled us to score the goals - he was fantastic throughout. Hopefully we can keep Alan. Simon Grayson has said 'no problem' and hopefully we can get the deal done. We have Joe Jacobson, who is not fit, and Paul Black, who's still a young lad, and so Alan offers us something we don't currently have."
"It helps when you get results, it builds and breeds confidence but a couple of defeats and you can be right back down there, we have to keep working and pick up another three points on Saturday. We've said to the lads tonight that it's easy to raise the tempo against the teams who are up there like MK and we have to do the same against teams who are lower down too. We've gone from 4th from bottom to 7th in two games, it's that tight. We have to now get ready for Yeovil."
