Price reductions leave Latics scratching their heads

The price reductions at Boundary Park for last Saturday have left Athletic scratching their heads. Less than 10,000 turned up in spite of prices being reduced to £2 and £1 and Alan Hardy is quick to suggest that some supporters may have not shown up because they believed that the match may be sold out, much like Celebration Sunday when many fans could not get in to see the Latics thrash Grimsby Town 6-0.

The club are encouraging fans to take advantage of the same deal when Northampton visit Boundary Park this Saturday and disappointed officials are hoping that this time the fans will turn up in their droves.

Mr. Hardy said,“I would have liked the attendance to have hit 10,000, but perhaps some people saw areas sold out and that put them off.”
