QPR replay on big screen?

Iain Dowie is hoping that Athletic’s travelling fans will help the club to the final of the play-offs at Cardiff. He said, “They will have a big crowd there on Wednesday night, you can be sure of that but our supporters have been fantastic away from home all season and I want that to continue. The fans on Saturday were great and I hope we get more of the same on Wednesday at Loftus Road, they can make a difference and I want them to do that.”

Although 2000 tickets have already been sold, there is the possibility of the match being beamed back to Boundary Park. This would give fans unable to make the trip a chance to part of the action. Cost will be the deciding factor and a decision will be made later today. Dowie continued, “We are going into the lion’s den and QPR will have great support. It would be fantastic to sell all our tickets because every Latics fan can make a difference.”

Les Pogliacomi could make a comeback for the game although late fitness checks will determine whether the big Aussie can return. Poggi missed the last six games but should start if fit, as David Miskelly was responsible for QPR’s
equaliser. Dowie said, “I worked with Les on Saturday morning and he did quite well. Now we’ll have to see how it goes today. We are keen to get him back because he’s a quality ’keeper who has been instrumental in our whole season. That isn’t being detrimental to David Miskelly because Dave has done ever so well since he came into the side. He’ll be disappointed with the goal on Saturday, but these things happen and you just need to come back strong by putting them out of your mind.”
