Ronnie Moore in the hunt for keepers

Ronnie Moore is busy searching for two new goalkeepers as cover for Les Pogliacomi. Steve Mildenhall (pictured) has been told that he will not be offered a new contract when his current one expires on June 30th. Mildenhall began his career at Swindon and the 6’-5” stopper was signed by Brian Talbot from Notts County on a free as cover for Les Pogliacomi.

When Poggsy was suffering in form, Mildenhall was given his chance and he made six starts before being ruled out by injury. With Charlie Treacy being released earlier in the season, it only leaves second year scholar Terry Smith as cover. Alan Hardy explained how the new system works, “There is no special registration or relaxation of the rules for ‘keepers when transfer windows are introduced. If all your ‘keepers are ruled out, clubs have been told they will have to put an outfield player in goal.”
