Scholes gives Latics fans hope

Manchester United midfielder Paul Scholes has admitted he does not expect to spend more than another two seasons at the club, news that Athletic fans have been waiting to hear for years. It raises the hopes that 33 year old Scholesey might just finish his career at Boundary Park. The Grasscroft based Latics fan has not ruled out moving to a club at a lower level to prolong his career.

Scholes said: "I have one year left on my contract and hopefully I'll get another one, but I suppose it all depends on how you're feeling and how you're playing. At the moment I just think two years would be about right. It's difficult to say what I'll do. I'll just have to see when the time comes whether I want to carry on playing somewhere else at a lower level. I don't look that far ahead. I'll see how my legs are at the start of the season. At the moment, I feel OK."

We aplogise for having to show the "dreaded red" shirt but after consideration thought that we would make an exception just for Scholesey!
