Darren Sheridan has been blasted with another three-match ban after being sent off four times last season. He has the worst red-card record in the country and was also fined £2,000. Another twist in the tale is that Sheridan has been dismissed in every competition ie. Worthington Cup (violent conduct), FA Cup (two cautions), LDV Vans Trophy (professional foul) and the league (violent conduct).

The news will hit Athletic hard as Sheridan will be forced to miss the first seven games of next season. Ex-coach Mick Wadsworth said, “His disciplinary record is unacceptable, I won't have it. He is contracted to this football club and needs to see the error of his ways.”
