Sheridan is not expecting an easy game on Saturday

Latics boss John Sheridan is not expecting an easy game on Saturday when Bristol Rovers come to town. Rovers gained promotion through the play-offs last season and when they lost to Doncaster in the Millennium Stadium in the Johnstone's Paint Trophy final they went from strength to strength and have not lost a game since.

Shez said, "They were flying last year and are still on a decent run stretching back to last season. Promoted teams are in the habit of winning games and are full of confidence. Bristol are a strong, well-organised side and we will have to earn the right to beat them. But if we play like we did in the second half at Carlisle I'm confident we can get the three points. We should have got something from the game up there, but I wasn't happy with the first-half performance. Three points this Saturday will represent a decent start, six points from three games. If you average two points a game throughout the season you will get promoted."
