Sheridan not happy with performance

John Sheridan was far from pleased with the performance of his squad in the 3-1 loss at Barrow. Although it was an experimental team and not their strongest, Shez was dismayed with the result and effort. He told Latics World, "Obviously I'm disappointed whenever we lose but the performance was very disappointing tonight. I made a lot of changes for the game and we actually played quite well for the 25 minutes after they'd gone 2-0 up. We passed the ball well and got a goal back. Dale's goal was a positive but at the end of the day we still lost the game. I'm disappointed in the way we lost and sometimes defeats show you things."

"The goals were shocking again and the only good thing is you can get away with these things in pre-season. The players know what I want and some of them didn't perform to that standard. I thought Danny Whitaker played well, and it was good for Kevin Maher and Andy Liddell to get another 45 minutes under their belts. This was a reserve game more than anything. Some players have only played 45 minutes here and there and I think that showed."
