Sheridan was a happy man

John Sheridan was a happy man after his team picked up their second home win of the season. He said, "It's important we get points on the board. We deserved more points than we got from the other games we played. Hopefully this result will give the lads confidence. We deserved to win. We played quite well, and now it's onto another big game on Tuesday at Nottingham Forest. My team-talk in the dressing room wasn't very long, short and sweet, but the lads knew what I wanted, the three points to move us up the table."

Commenting on the referee Shez went on, "You're not allowed to touch anyone nowadays. It's a physical game and people should let the game flow. However, they're the rules, so we've just got to get on with it. I thought Gary McDonald (pictured) did well. He's an attacking midfielder who gets himself into scoring positions, and I'd like to think there's a few more goals to come from him this season."
