John Sheridan has now named the mystery midfield players he has been hunting as Craig Rocastle and Paul McLaren. Shez has also confirmed that both players have accepted terms in principle and will probably join the squad for pre-season training which begins soon. Rocastle (pictured) is 25 and joined Sheffield Wednesday from Chelsea and is now available on a free transfer although he is still under contract. He played 19 games for Wednesday last season but them went to Yeovil Town on loan.
McLaren is 29 and, ironically, will move from Rotherham even though he was offered a new deal with the Millers. He went to Millmoor from Wednesday when former Latics boss Ronnie Moore signed him and has made almost 400 senior appearances for his three teams, Rotherham, Wednesday and Luton.
