Ex-Latics boss John Sheridan has taken the manager's job at League Two side Chesterfield and has signed a three-year contract. His backroom team of Tommy Wright and Mark Crossley have also joined the coaching staff at Saltergate as assistant manager and player/goalkeeping coach respectively.

The Spireites chairman Dave Allen has promised a significant investment and Chesterfield will soon be making a move to a new stadium. Shez said, "It's obviously a step down from Oldham but I've got a job to do."
