Shez disappointed again

John Sheridan watched his team play to their second 0-0 draw in four days at Gillingham and admitted that he was disappointed even though the Latics have lost just one game in the last seventeen. He told Latics World, "I'm not pleased with a point considering we were playing against a team with ten men and had enough chances to win the game. Mark Crossley didn't have a save to make. It's pleasing to keep a clean sheet, but we just couldn't break them down at the other end. We should have done better with our chances and even created more. Kelvin Lomax and Deane Smalley came on in the second half and both did very well. They gave us drive and intention in our game and used the ball very well."

"The keeper had to go. That's the rules of the game. He handled the ball outside the area and Craig Davies (pictured) would have scored otherwise. In that position we had a bit of belief and hope, and it's two points dropped really. Those two points could have caught us up to a few teams."

On the down side was the fact that striker Davies picked up his fifth booking of the season and will now miss the upcoming League One clash at Carlisle although he will be available to face Huddersfield in Saturday's FA Cup clash.
