Shez happy with win

John Sheridan was again happy with the performance in the 1-2 win at Grimsby. After the game he said, "We were nice and bright in the first period but looked tired in the second half for some reason. The pitch was nice but the grass was too long for me and that made it very hard to pass the ball. Today was a good workout and I was pleased with certain aspects of our game. I'm happy with the performance and I'm happy with our fitness levels. There's still another three weeks to go and we will be working hard on our team shape and organisation over the next three games. Players think they're fit when training but it's a totally different scenario in a game."

The boss was also impressed with trialist Demar Phillips, who played just over an hour at Blundell Park. He was unlucky not to score and looked very sharp. Shez admitted, "I like what Demar did today. He gives us that bit of balance on the left and I thought he did very well. It's never easy when a player comes in - he only joined us yesterday and didn't know any of the lads."
