Shez post Blackpool

The second half performance at Blackpool pleased the Latics manager John Sheridan. The first half was somewhat of a shambles but the visitors were unlucky not to leave Bloomfield Road with all three points.

Sheridan said, "A draw was probably a fair result but we did so well to get back into the game. At 2-1 up, we looked comfortable enough to take the three points. We did so well to get ourselves into a winning position but couldn't get the result. I thought we were poor in the first half, but raised our game in the second and dominated. I'm disappointed for the lads as they showed a lot of character again to come back in the second half."

"I didn't have a go at the players, but explained that they should perhaps have killed the game at 2-1, maybe by being a bit more intelligent with the ball or putting it in the corner. But at the end of the day it's a point away from home, and we're on a nice little unbeaten run with seven points from nine. Chris Porter got another one today. If he keeps banging them in then we've got a chance. He's important to the team. I'm telling the lads I want six points from the next two games."
