The Michael Ricketts move to Walsall opens up the door for John Sheridan to bring in another striker. Sheridan is desperate for his team to start scoring again as the last goal came back at Huddersfield on October 20th. when Craig Davies netted.

The Latics boss has Davies, Matty Wolfenden, Deane Smalley, Lewis Alessandra and Lee Hughes available but his current permutations are not bringing results and he feels that a new face may be just the tonic that the team needs. Ricketts departure will free up funding to bring in a loan player.

Shez confessed, "I'd like to bring a striker in, of course I would, because we need someone to lift us and get us those goals. I think that's all we're missing. However I couldn't tell you anything at the moment. I will have to have a chat with the owners when we get back (from Leyton Orient)."
