Analysts Deloitte's Sports Business Group have published findings to show that there is plenty of backing for the club's new stadium development proposals. The plans will make Boundary Park safer and will encouraged a family atmosphere as well as revamping Boundary Park and the surrounding area. A new main stand is proposed with outline permission requested for two further phases.

A petition of over 5,000 local residents and fans has shown support for the plan but the club are still waiting for approval from Oldham Council who meet in September to discuss the plan. If approved, the project will create hundreds of jobs as well as pumping millions of pounds into the area from investments.

Alan Hardy said of the plans, "The evidence shows that the kind of regeneration project we are planning has not only rejuventated professional football clubs, but also whole communities. Not only do we want to provide a team that the town can be proud of, but also help to make Oldham a better town for everyone."

Simon Corney added, "We want to safeguard the football club's future in the town. The only way we can do that is to redevelop the stadium to create the revenue streams to sustain the football. We want to provide a long-lasting legacy, not just for fans but for the whole town, and we hope that everyone will get behind us and give us their full support."
