Stalemate spoils run

The Latics broke their consecutive wins run with a disappointing 0-0 stalemate against Yeovil Town on Saturday. Dave Penney confessed that "no one was on top of their game" and said, "We knew it was going to be a difficult game, but we were not at the races today. Simple as that but two weeks ago we'd probably have lost that 1-0. But we've still had 4 or 5 good chances, we're getting into good positions and not taking chances, so it's disappointed we don't have three points. The final ball let us down - sometimes you have to be unselfish - pick a better pass out and we didn't do that today. Now we get back to work, ready for Saturday."

We defended well as a team and if Keigan Parker and Chris Taylor take their chances we come in 2-0 up at half time and it's a totally different game. 10 points from 12 is excellent and continues the unbeaten run, we've had a good fortnight. You have to battle out a result from the game at times, and we've had more than enough chances. Kelvin Lomax has took a whack to the head and had to come off, but other than that there's no new worries. He went to hospital at half time as a precaution. Whilst Dean Furman took a knock in the tackle and should be fine. We also brought Chris off, as it's proved too much too soon for him."
